What is Baptism?

Baptism is a public declaration of faith, announcing your commitment to Jesus Christ.

Baptism is often reflected as fully submerging in water, allowing our past to be put to rest spiritually, and raising as a new creation in Christ. Just as Jesus was raised from the dead, we too can symbolically die of ourselves in order to relinquish total control to God over our lives.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28: 19-20).

When is the right time to get baptized?

We believe that being baptized is a personal decision made by the individual person. Being baptized usually becomes the next step on your faith journey as an outward declaration of a personal relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

“For you were buried with Christ when you were baptized. And with him you were raised to new life because you trusted the mighty power of God, who raised Christ from the dead.” (Colossians 2: 12).

Why get Baptized?

Jesus showed us the way and gave us this example when he was baptized by John the Baptist.

“Then Jesus went from Galilee to the Jordan River to be baptized by John. But John tried to talk him out of it. ‘I am the one who needs to be baptized by you,’ he said, ‘so why are you coming to me?’ But Jesus said, ‘It should be done for we must carry out all that God requires.’” (Matthew 3: 13-14).

“Jesus answered, ‘very truly I tell you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.’” (John 3: 5).
